Labour Party's Jo Cox Dies After Shooting Attack in Yorkshire: Police

British lawmaker Jo Cox has died after being shot and stabbed in her constituency of West Yorkshire Thursday, local police said.

A man was arrested and police said they are not seeking any other suspects in relation to the attack. Weapons, including a gun, were recovered at the scene, but police have not provided a motive.

Eyewitnesses suggested the 41-year-old Labour Party member of the Parliament may have been caught up in a scuffle between two men at the Birstall Library, where Cox was scheduled to hold office hours with constituents.

"The gun went off twice and then she fell between two cars and I came and saw her bleeding on the floor," shop owner Hichem Ben Abdallah told ITV News.

Police said a man was also injured but is expected to survive.
