Texas Sen.Ted Cruz continued to slam last week's consequential Supreme Court decisions on same-sex marriage and Obamacare on Monday morning, saying "a majority of the justices violated their judicial oath."

"Millions of Americans are hurting, have lost their jobs, have lost their healthcare because of Obamacare. And then the next day the Supreme Court rewrote the Constitution and threw out the marriage laws of all 50 states," the Republican presidential candidate told NBC's "Today" show.

On Friday, just hours after the Supreme Court declared the right of same-sex couples to marry nationwide, Cruz said, "today is some of the darkest 24 hours in our nation's history."

A Harvard graduate, Cruz criticized the Supreme Court justices as a group of "elites" from Harvard or Yale who lack religious diversity.

"They think that our views are simply parochial and don't deserve to be respected," he said Monday.

"What a crazy system to have the most important issues of our day decided by unelected lawyers," he added.

The White House hopeful said he aims to take on what the calls the "Washington cartel" and the role money and corruption play in U.S. politics.
