Ted Cruz Fights Historic Battle After Winning Iowa Caucus

Ted Cruz says he won't be another victim of the Iowa conservative's curse

Ted Cruz kicked off his New Hampshire swing with a high energy event in Windham, New Hampshire.  Though he won over Iowans, New Hampshire is a different electorate.

To the beat of country music and the applause of supporters, GOP presidential candidate Ted Cruz walked into his first New Hampshire event after his big win in Iowa.

"God bless the great state of New Hampshire," Cruz announced.

In Iowa Cruz got 27.6% of the vote compared to runner-up Donald Trump with 24.3%. However, Cruz is walking into a very different state than Iowa, where evangelicals are few and far between and moderates run the politics.

"He has history up against him," said political analyst Scott Spradling.

Scott Spradling is an analyst who focuses on New Hampshire politics.

"There has never been a successful republican leaving Iowa to really make it a successful run here in New Hampshire," noted Spradling.

This is a statistic Ted Cruz is confident he can turn around and says it all starts with the people of New Hampshire.

Following Tuesday's event, Senator Cruz left for an event in South Carolina but will be back in the granite state tomorrow.
