Deal Reached in Congress for Trillion-Dollar Government Spending Package

Congressional Republicans and Democrats have finally reached a deal to pass a $1.1 trillion spending bill to fund the government through October 2016, NBC News reported.

House Speaker Paul Ryan announced the deal on the package, called the Omnibus, to House Republicans during a closed door conference meeting Tuesday night.

The deal comes after weeks of negotiations working through several partisan policy provisions that lawmakers on either side of the aisle have been trying to have included in the Omnibus — commonly called "riders."
