Palestinians Clash With Israeli Security Forces in Bethlehem

Dozens of Palestinian protesters clashes with Israeli security forces in the West Bank city of Bethlehem on Wednesday.

Masked Palestinians hurled stones at forces who responded with tear gas and stun grenades, The Associated Press reported.

Hundreds of Palestinians have been wounded in clashes with Israeli forces in the West Bank and east Jerusalem which started a month ago over tensions surrounding a Jerusalem holy site.

Eight Israelis have been killed in attacks by Palestinians. Some 29 Palestinians have been killed, among them 12 identified by Israel as attackers.

Hundreds of Israeli troops were deployed on Wednesday to bolster police forces a day after a series of attacks — men opening fire and stabbing passengers on a bus, a driver ramming pedestrians then stabbing pedestrians — that left three people dead and more than 20 wounded.
