Grandmother Delivers Daughter-In-Law's Baby at Home With Guidance From 911 Dispatcher

The baby boy was delivered on his father's birthday.

A grandmother delivered her grandson with the help of a 911 dispatcher over the phone while paramedics were on the way in Orange County Friday.

"Get him to cry," 911 dispatcher Velecia Aguilar said in the recording. "Tap his foot a little bit."

Around 5 a.m., as paramedics were responding to Lauren Roberson's home in San Juan Capistrano, Orange County Fire Authority 911 dispatcher Aguilar talked her mother-in-law through the delivery of Roberson's second child.

In the 911 call recording, Aguilar walked through the steps of delivery, and the baby, Mason Anthony Roberson, was born just before paramedics arrived to take him and his mother to the hospital.

As the baby cries in the 911 audio, Aguilar can be heard saying, "There we go! That's what I needed to hear."

She congratulated the family over the phone after the precious bundle was born.

Mason is the second child of Lauren Roberson, 30, and her husband Anthony Roberson, who welcomed his son's birth on his own birthday.

Mason was born two weeks early weighing 7 pounds, 11 ounces.

Both mom and baby were doing well, and now grandma has an amazing story to tell.
