Fort Hood Soldier Fatally Shoots 3, Kills Self: Authorities

A Fort Hood soldier killed two neighbors before fatally shooting his wife and then himself in an off-post domestic dispute, police said.

Killeen, Texas, police said another woman was shot but survived. She was taken to a nearby hospital Tuesday where she remains in serious condition.

Police said Atase Giffa located his wife, Dawn, at a neighbor's place Sunday night, then forced her to return home with him.

Officers responding to 911 calls about gunfire located Lydia Farina and Larry Guzman slain at her home. The wounded woman, whose name wasn't released, was also at the Farina residence.

Police discovered the bodies of Dawn and Atase Giffa at their home.

Military officials didn't immediately provide details on him. Dawn Giffa was Canadian, from Kingston, Ontario. The couple met while he was stationed at Fort Drum, New York.
