Family of “American Sniper” Confident in Jury

The family of the slain Navy SEAL portrayed in "American Sniper" says it's confident the suspected killer will get a fair trial.

The ex-Marine charged with shooting Chris Kyle goes on trial next week in Stephenville, the North Texas town where jurors were still being screened Friday.

The Dallas Morning News reported Friday that the Kyle family issued a statement saying it "has the utmost confidence that a fair and just verdict will result from the upcoming murder trial."

The trial begins as the movie based on Kyle's life is breaking box office records and remains in theaters. Judge Jason Cashon, who will oversee the trial, told potential jurors that they would not be disqualified just for having seen the movie.
