A family in Taunton, Massachusetts, is relieved after their dog was rescued from the bottom of a well.
The Higgins family initially thought Buddy was stolen or had run away. But when they finally found him stuck in a well, they had to call in the fire department to save the day.
The 2-year-old golden doodle couldn't be found all of Monday night. The family searched with no luck until their kids noticed Buddy's father, Jameel, by the well the next morning. They say the older dog was looking down into the well.
Buddy fell through some rotted wood covering the well and went down about 25 feet.
Taunton Fire responded and rescued the animal in an elaborate and unusual rescue using ladder ropes and rescue belts to bring him back up to safety.
Buddy wasn't injured and is doing fine.
