Colgate University Freshmen Die in New York Plane Crash

Two Colgate University freshmen died in a plane crash in upstate New York on Sunday afternoon, NBC News reported.

Cathryn "Carey" Depuy and Ryan Adams, both 19, were killed when the aircraft they were flying in came down after taking off from Hamilton Municipal Airport, Colgate University said in a statement. Both students were from Ridgefield, Connecticut.

An eyewitness called in to report hearing a crash just after noon local time.

The Madison County Sheriff and Federal Aviation Administration investigators responded to the scene, the website reported. Both victims were pronounced dead at the scene.
