CIA Director's Email Reportedly Hacked; Feds Investigate

Federal officials are looking into reports that CIA Director John Brennan's personal email account was hacked by a high school student, a senior official told NBC News.

Questions over a possible hacking of a private email account belonging to Brennan arose late on Sunday after the New York Post published a story in which a "stoner high school student" hacker claimed to have gained access to the account and, among other information, taken documents with the Social Security numbers of top intelligence officials.

While senior officials tell NBC News there is no indication any classified material was taken, they did confirm that a security clearance application, which lists intimate details on the applicant's personal life, may be among the documents that may have been taken.

"We are aware of the reports on social media and we are referring to the appropriate authorities," the senior official said.
