Video of Taco Shop Robbery Goes Viral

After a Las Vegas taco shop was robbed, the restaurant owners posted the surveillance video to help find the men — but the video has a hilarious twist. (Published Wednesday, Dec. 23, 2015)

The owners of a Las Vegas taco shop are making fun of the robbers who broke into their restaurant.

Two men broke the front glass door and robbed Frijoles & Frescas Grilled Tacos on Dec. 16 at 3:33 a.m. and their entire crime was caught on surveillance video. The shop's owner took a light-hearted approach to find the robbers. He acquired the surveillance video and added funny captions before distributing the video.

"We knew we wanted to get the help of the public but we're a fun company and we sat down and watched and thought you know, we can have a lot of fun with this," Greg Carlson told KSNV-TV. "We want to believe our food is so good people will break down the door to get it. I mean I would. After watching the footage I'm a little more convinced they were after cash and not the food."

As the robbers are seen pulling a cash register off the table in the video, the caption on the video reads "there are no tacos in the register."

The funny truth is that the thieves actually made out with nothing. The stolen cash registers were empty.

Anyone with information is asked to call Las Vegas Metro Police at 702-385-5555.
