2016 People's Choice Awards: Vin Diesel Sings, Stage Crashing & Winners

The actress and host Jane Lynch opened up the 2016 People's Choice Awards with a crafty performance of the hit "Walk the Moon" song with her own pop culture twist, and with the help of some background dancers, the awards show was in full motion.

One of the first topics was Steve Harvey's Miss Universe blunder. Lynch announced that there was going to be a new award for an actor who never won a PCA, but deserved to, and it went to Miss Colombia. (Although, that wasn't actually Ariadna Gutierrez on stage, but someone who looked a lot like her.)

The first tender moment came from Taylor Kinney, who gave Lady Gaga a sweet shout-out while accepting his award for Favorite Dramatic TV Actor. "My fiancée couldn't be here tonight, but she says hello, wishes she could. I love you, babe. Thank you for having my back and supporting me. You inspire me every day."

But the night wasn't only about award winning. Vin Diesel accepted Favorite Action Movie and Favorite Film for "Furious 7" and began to get choked up thinking of his late co-star Paul Walker. The action star even began to sing the film's breakout song "See You Again" for his fallen friend before leaving the stage.

With a heartwarming montage to Taylor Swift's "Out of the Woods," viewers relived some of Ellen DeGeneres' most sincere moments on her show, before she took the stage to accept her Humanitarian Award. "This is crazy, I mean, so, so deserved, but this is crazy," she joked.

"I just think that kindness is something that we should all have. That's an innate quality that we have and we need more of that out there. I read a great quote recently, 'What if there was no such thing as love? Just proof of love.' I don't know if it was from the Bible or an Instagram, but either way it's powerful."

DeGeneres wasn't the only one who brough the laughs. While accepting the award for Favorite Dramatic Movie Actress, Dakota Johnson alerted the audience that presenter Leslie Mann broke her dress.

"It's not like nobody here hasn't already seen my boobs," she said, referring to her role in "Fifty Shades of Gray."

And just when you thought all was fine and dandy, something out of the ordinary happened. When the ladies of "The Talk" were accepting their award, a young man came out of left field and tried to ambush their speech, but not without a fight. Sharon Osbourne began kicking him and flipped him off, while Sheryl Underwood yelled, "You ain't gonna pull no Steve Harvey up here, no sir, no sir. Security! Back to your speech, girl."

The show also included musical performances by Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello, Jason Derulo and Jordan Smith with David Foster.
