Yonkers Man Stabbed While Trying to Help Out

A Yonkers man was only trying to be helpful while checking on a fallen bicyclist.

The 47-year-old man approached the would-be bicyclist lying on the ground across the road from the Yonkers police department. Then the bicyclist stabbed him.

The suspect then told the unidentified Good Samaritan to get up, and robbed him of $372, according to Yonkers police.

The victim walked to a nearby hospital where he needed 17 stitches to close an 8-inch cut in his stomach.

The suspect, desribed by the Journal News as a Hispanic 28-year old around 5 feet 9 inches tall, fled the scene on the bicycle and is being sought by Yonkers police.
