Several Hurt in Two Separate Yonkers Fires: Officials

Yonkers firefighters battled two apartment building blazes in the arctic cold Tuesday night.

A four-alarm fire was still burning at 164 Beech St. Tuesday night. Two people were seriously hurt, officials say.

Earlier in the evening, firefighters were called to 461 Riverdale Ave., where a fire broke out on the seventh floor.

The blaze there was quickly brought under control, but two residents were injured and taken to St. Joseph's Medical Center in critical condition. Fifty residents were displaced, officials said.

It's not clear what caused either of the fires.
