FDNY Responds to Fire at World Trade Center Site

Firefighters responded Wednesday to a two-alarm fire at the World Trade Center site, authorities said.

The fire was reported at about 11:30 a.m. and started in storage containers near the Sept. 11 memorial site, fire officials said.

An FDNY spokesman said firefighters were still on the scene, but it appeared the fire didn't spread far.

There were no reports of injuries. The memorial was closed for about 30 minutes as a precaution.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
