Woman Dies Days After Being Struck by Car Backing into Parking Spot on Madison Avenue: NYPD

A 76-year-old woman has died, nearly a week after she was struck by a car backing up into a parking spot on the Upper East Side, police said Saturday,

Mary Jo Myszelow of Cornwall was hit last Saturday evening when the driver of a Lincoln sedan attempted to pull into a parking spot on Madison Avenue near East 95th Street.

Myszelow was trying to cross Madison Avenue mid-block, police said.

The driver remained at the scene while EMS arrived and took the woman, who was conscious and alert at the time, to Mount Sinai Hospital, according to police.

The woman died Friday from a head injuries at the hospital, authorities said.

No charges have been filed, police said.
