Man Repeatedly Stabs Woman on Upper East Side, 2 Con Ed Supervisors Before Being Caught by Police: Officials

A man repeatedly stabbed a woman in the offices of a foundation where she works on the Upper East Side of Manhattan Monday afternoon, then stabbed two more people in the Con Edison building in Union Square before he was caught, authorities said.

The man first attacked a 36-year-old woman he has a child with shortly before 2:30 p.m. at The Robert Sterling Clark Foundation on 64th Street and Lexington Avenue, police said.

The woman was stabbed seven times in her stomach and back, but the injuries are not life threatening, police said. An eyewitness said the suspect, identified as 40-year-old Trevial Terry of Harlem, ran inside the foundation and the victim came rushing out after holding her bloody stomach.

Terry then fled on foot and ended up at the Con Edison building on Irving Place, where he works as a field worker for large commercial customers, according to a Con Ed spokesman.

Terry stabbed two supervisors on the 10th floor of the Con Ed building before he walked downstairs and was taken into custody, police and Con Ed said.

The extent of the stabbed workers' injuries are not known but they are not life-threatening, police said.

All three victims are being treated at Bellevue Hospital.

Terry was taken to the Bellevue psychiatric ward. He has been charged with three counts of attempted murder, six counts of assault and six counts each of possession of a criminal weapon, police said.
