Husband of Woman Hurt by Shopping Cart Plans Foundation

The cart was thrown from four stories up.

The husband of a woman critically injured by a shopping cart tossed by youths from a fourth-floor walkway in Harlem says he'll use the tragedy to promote a good cause.

Michael Hedges said his family plans to create a foundation to try to help wayward inner city youth, reports the Daily News.

His wife, Marion Salmon Hedges, was walking with her 14-year-old son outside a Target store on Sunday when the cart fell on her head.

Hedges said his wife has neurological damage and will eventually require months of rehabilitation.

Their son was not injured.

Two 12-year-old boys have been charged with felony assault and misdemeanor criminal possession of a weapon.
