A woman was hit by a box truck while crossing the street in Hell's Kitchen, killing her, police said.
The 57-year-old victim was walking along 10th Avenue and was crossing West 39th street when she was hit by a box truck driven by Rance Clayburn, 28, just before 5 p.m. Friday, authorities said.
An ambulance took her to Bellevue Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Authorities said Clayburn remained at the scene after the accident. The 28-year-old was arrested Friday night and charged with violated highway law, failure to yield to pedestrian and failure to exercise due care.
