Mom of 5 Found Dead Inside Long Island Home: Police

A woman was found dead inside the Long Island home where she lived with her husband and five children, and police say they're looking to speak with her husband, a former NYPD officer.

Officers found the killed woman, identified by neighbors as Tricia Odierna, inside her Lake Grove home when they responded to a 911 call Thursday. Suffolk police said officers from the Fourth Precinct  were prepared to force their way in based on the details of the 911 call, but were able to access the home when a resident came out of the house.

Police said the killing was not random, but no arrest has been made. They want to speak with her husband, Paul Leitgeb. It wasn't immediately clear whether he was in the area.

It's not clear whether their children, including twins, were in the home at the time.

The family was a fixture in the neighborhood, and Odierna was remembered for her bright smile and vibrant laugh, always surrounded by her children, according to friends and neighbors.
