Woman Drunkenly Called 911 When She Lost Phone: Cops

A Middletown woman is facing charges after drunkenly calling 911 when she couldn't find her phone.

The 43-year-old has called 911 more than 75 times since March 15, mostly about non-emergency issues, according to police.

Authorities responded to a Middletown apartment the evening of Oct. 3 after the woman reported that she couldn't find her cellphone and then hung up.

Responding officers said she appeared to be heavily intoxicated and that when asked about the phone, she said she had found it and was "all set."

When officers told her that she couldn't call 911 for the purpose of finding her cellphone, she allegedly responded by saying "whatever."

Police charged the woman with falsely reporting an incident and misdialing 911.

She is expected to appear in Middletown Court Friday.
