Boyfriend Charged With Manslaughter in Death of Woman, 29, Who Fell From Moving Car

The longtime boyfriend of a 29-year-old woman who died after falling out of a moving car on a Brooklyn street Thursday has been charged with manslaughter, DWI and other offenses in her death.

Andrew Berkowitz, 35, was charged Friday afternoon, more than 12 hours after his girlfriend and the mother of his 2-year-old son, Danielle Arronsen, fell out of the back seat of the 2002 GMC Envoy he was driving as it turned right into Fifth Avenue from Bay Ridge Parkway.

Arronsen sustained head trauma and she was taken to Lutheran Hospital, where she was pronounced dead. It's not clear how she fell out of the car.

In addition to manslaughter and DWI, Berkowitz was charged with vehicular manslaughter, criminally negligent homicide and leaving the scene of an accident. Information on an attorney for him wasn't immediately available, and it wasn't clear if he and Arronsen were the only ones in the car.

Arronsen's father, Scott Arronsen, called his daughter "his princess."
