Woman Dies After Falling Between Moving Subway Cars: NYPD

A woman who had just gotten off a subway train was killed by that train after she fell from the platform and in between two of the moving train cars. Another woman with her was hurt.

The New York Police Department said the women had gotten off the train at the Broadway Junction station in Brooklyn around 12:20 a.m. Sunday.

They began to walk down the platform as the train began to move. Police said the women somehow fell in between two of the train cars.

A 23-year-old woman was pronounced dead at the scene. Her companion, a 24-year-old woman, was taken to the hospital with a fractured left arm.

Authorities believe the women were intoxicated.

The deceased woman's identity has not been released.
