Williamsburg Cyclist is Remembered Tonight at Hugs

Remembering a friend, one year later.

A year ago today, 24-year old Craig Murphey was struck by an oil truck and killed while biking in Williamsburg.  Tonight, his friends and family plan to gather at Hugs for the Craig Murphey Memorial Fundraiser & Raffle for NYC Coalition Against Hunger  - the Craig Murphey fellowship.

Craig was an active member in both the Coalition and RightRides, an organization that safely escorts "women, transpeople and gender queer individuals a free, late-night ride home to ensure their safe commute to or through high-risk areas."  For his loved ones, its only natural to continue supporting Craig's organizations.

So, tonight they will gather at Hugs (106 North 6th St, Williamsburg, Brooklyn) for a raffle, live bands, DJs, and the fundraiser to "raise a glass of vodka and Coke Zero and dance like its going out of style!"  For a full memorial gallery of Craig Murphey, click through to his Flickr pool.
