Eleven snakes, including a 13-foot-long green granite Burmese python, were seized from a home in Westchester on Monday, authorities say.
The snakes, all of which were boa constrictors and pythons, were seized from the home in Lake Peekskill after it was determined that their owner couldn’t care for them, according to the SPCA of Westchester.
Ten of the snakes, including the Burmese python, were in good health. One of the serpents, a Colombian red-tailed boa, was euthanized because it had suffered fatal injuries at the home.
It’s not clear if the animals’ owner will face charges.
