Born and raised in San Francisco, Gu chose to represent China, her mother’s home country, in the Winter Olympics.
'Ice River' GS Course Claims Over 20 Crash Victims
Alpine skiers compete on hills that are taller than buildings and sometimes that leads to some bad crashes.
That was evident on the giant slalom course that has been named "Ice River," as more than 20 Olympic skiers (including champions like Mikaela Shiffrin) were unable to complete their runs down the mountain.
