Giants Star Victor Cruz Honored in Hometown

The city of Paterson threw a parade and held a ceremony to give Cruz the key to the city.

Giants wide receiver Victor Cruz has scored another honor, this time from his New Jersey hometown.

Paterson officials gave Cruz the key to the city during a parade Sunday afternoon that officials say drew about 2,000 people.

The 25-year-old quickly rose from obscurity last season to become one of the most popular athletes in the tri-state area.

In his first season as a starter, Cruz set a single-season receiving record for the Giants and caught a touchdown pass in their Super Bowl win over the New England Patriots.

But Cruz became known nationally for the celebratory salsa dance he performed after each touchdown he scored. And the crowd roared Sunday when he showed off his dance moves before receiving commendations from city officials.
