A knife-wielding robber stole cash, a cellphone, bookbag and Air Jordan sneakers from a 17-year-old boy aboard a subway train on Manhattan's Upper West Side Wednesday, law enforcement sources tell NBC 4 New York.
The teen was riding a Brooklyn-bound 1 train near the West 79th Street stop at about 2:30 a.m. when a the robber, believed to be in his late teens, approached with a knife, according to sources.
Sources say that the robber told the teen, "give me your stuff. Hand over your shoes."
The teen complied, giving him the basketball shoes, wallet, bookbag and cellphone.
Afterward, the teen got off the train, and the suspect continued riding the train.
