Federal, state and county authorities say 24 people have been arrested in connection with a drug ring that operating in and around the Shinnecock Reservation on Long Island.

Prosecutors announced the arrests on Thursday, saying the ring sold more than $1 million worth of heroin cut with fentanyl, as well as cocaine, Oxycodone pills and marijuana each year. The ring is also tied to five fatal heroin overdoses.

Prosecutors say the investigation began in December 2018 following and uptick in criminal activity on the reservation, including firearms violence, narcotics sales and overdoses.
