TSA Stops Two More People With Guns at LaGuardia Airport in Five Days

The TSA says the gun was loaded.

The TSA has stopped two men trying to take loaded guns through LaGuardia Airport, Port Authority police said.

On Tuesday, Quashaun Hagler, 30, of Minnesota, was arrested for allegedly possessing a Glock semi-automatic .40 pistol with 30 rounds of ammunition, police said. It is not known where he was heading.

Hours later, Timothy Green, 54, was trying to board a flight to Orlando when he was found to possess a loaded .38 revolver, police said. It was allegedly found in Green's bag as it was moving down the security conveyor belt.

TSA Public Affairs spokesperson Lisa Farbstein in a tweet that TSA officers had stopped a Florida man with a loaded gun at a LaGuardia Airport checkpoint on Tuesday.

Both men were charged with criminal possession of a weapon.

The catch followed a similar incident at LaGuardia on June 30, where a Newtown, Connecticut man was found with an unloaded gun in his carry-on bag.

And on Monday at Newark Airport, a man was arrested after TSA agents found an unloaded handgun concealed in the lining of his suitcase, officials said.

TSA regulations allow travelers to travel with firearms in checked baggage as long as they are unloaded and properly packed in a locked, hard-sided case. All weapons must also be declared with paperwork.
