Protesters Stage ‘Die-In' at Trump Plaza in Midtown

Protesters staged a "die-in" outside Trump Tower in midtown Manhattan to protest presidential candidate Donald Trump's assertion that he "could stand in the middle of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody" without losing support from voters.

Gun control advocates from the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence covered themselves in white sheets at about 12:30 p.m. Wednesday and laid across the sidewalk near the entrance of Trump Tower on Fifth Avenue, photos of the protest show.

The action was intended "to show the GOP frontrunner what it looks like when 90 Americans are killed by gun violence every day," the group said in a news release.
