Trash Bags, Discarded Christmas Trees Catch Fire on Street Corner: FDNY

A pile of discarded Christmas trees and other rubbish caught fire on a Manhattan street corner Thursday evening, sending flames roaring up from a busy intersection, the FDNY says.

It's not clear what sparked the trash fire at 48th Street and 2nd Avenue at about 6 p.m.
