What to Know

  • An NYPD traffic agent was attacked last week after giving a man a ticket for double parking, authorities say
  • Cops say the suspect first screamed obscenities at the 55-year-old traffic agent, then got into the SUV and drove off
  • Less than 30 minutes later, the SUV approached the agent again and the man allegedly threw a plastic bottle with liquid at her

Authorities are looking for a man who allegedly screamed profanities at an NYPD traffic agent who ticketed him for double parking, then followed her in his SUV and chucked a bottle with clear liquid out the window, hitting her in the back, last week.

The 55-year-old traffic agent had given the man a ticket on Steinway Street in Queens shortly before 5 p.m. July 20. Authorities say the suspect walked up to her, cursed at her and then got into the passenger side of his vehicle. A woman was driving.

The agent put the ticket on the windshield and walked off, continuing her tour.

About 25 minutes later, police say the SUV pulled up to the traffic agent again and the man in the passenger seat held a plastic bottle out the window, then threw it at the agent as the vehicle drove by. Cops say there was a clear liquid in the bottle, but the specific substance of that liquid wasn't immediately clear.

The agent was taken to a hospital, where she was treated for injuries and released.

She managed to snap a photo of the vehicle (above). Anyone with information about it is asked to call police.
