A tour bus caught fire on a busy stretch of New Jersey highway, but no passengers were injured.
The fire was reported at about 8:40 p.m. Saturday in Bridgewater, the New Jersey State Police said. Passengers climbed off the bus and ran along the southbound lanes of Interstate 287 to escape the blaze.
Authorities weren't immediately sure where the bus was coming from; they didn't know where it was headed. The passengers were transferred to another bus to continue their trip.
Police shut down all but one lane of traffic as the fire was extinguished and the remains of the bus were removed from the road.
All lanes reopened later Saturday.
