NJ Mom Arrested After Attacking Young Boys on School Bus: Police

Police say Rebecca Sardoni entered the bus, asked for a 9-year-old boy by name and then slapped him across the face

A 28-year-old New Jersey mom was arrested and charged Friday after allegedly slapping, cursing and threatening two young boys on a school bus.

Police say Rebecca Sardoni, of Toms River, boarded the school bus during the morning pickup of East Dover Elementary School students.

Witnesses, including students and the bus driver, say Sardoni asked, "Who is Vinny?" after hopping on the bus.

When a 9-year-old student raised his hand, she walked to the back of the bus, cursed at him and slapped him across the face.

She then slapped another boy, who was sitting next to the first victim, in the face.

Sardoni's mother, 51-year-old Stephanie Sardoni of Beachwood, also got on the bus and was allegedly screaming and yelling at the boys.

Witnesses said Rebecca Sardoni was cursing in front of the students on the bus and referenced a problem with her daughter.

She also told the young boys she was going to take them to court.

The boys were later treated by Toms River school nurses for cuts to their mouths, and one of the boys was later taken by his parent to a medical center for a neck injury.

Rebecca Sardoni was charged with simple assault, criminal trespass and terroristic threats. Stephanie Sardoni was charged with criminal trespass.

Both were released on summonses. The investigation is ongoing.
