Thunderstorm Watch in Effect Throughout Tri-State

Radar information indicated a thunderstorm capable of producing quarter-sized hail, and damaging winds in excess of 60 miles per hour

A thunderstorm watch is in effect in areas throughout the tri-state, continuing through this evening.

The watch is for  Rockland, Westchester, Essex, Hudson, Nassau, Putnam, Hunterdon and Morris counties, as well as throughout the five boroughs.
 
Warren county in New Jersey is also under a flash flood warning. 
 
Radar information indicated a thunderstorm capable of producing quarter-sized hail, and damaging winds in excess of 60 miles per hour.
 
The watch is in effect until 8 p.m. The rest of Saturday night into Sunday will be muggy.
