Another murder-suicide has plagued New York City when a man shot and killed his ex-girlfriend and injuring her new boyfriend inside their Brooklyn apartment Wednesday before turning the gun on himself.
Police say they were notified of shots fired inside a Flatlands apartment on Utica Avenue around 2 p.m. When officers arrived at the scene, they found 30-year-old Darnell Solomon and 24-year-old Jened Duncan with gunshot wounds to their heads. A 33-year-old man was also found with a gunshot would to his chest but he's expected to survive.
Duncan and Solomon were both taken to Kings County Hospital where they were pronounced dead, police said.
An NYPD spokesperson says Solomon allegedly shot Duncan and the 33-year-old. Police did not immediately confirm the identity of the injured man but neighbors say he is Duncan's new live-in boyfriend.
Sammy Richards tells NBC New York that he heard a loud noise, three shots ringing out and then nothing but quiet.
"They used to fight all the time. I never thought it would go this far. He's so quiet, I never thought he was even capable of that," Richards said.

The incident is the city's third murder-suicide in days. The NYPD says that nearly all of murder-suicides victims are women killed by their partners and usually, 2 out of 3, never had prior domestic violence contacts with police.
On Friday, a 27-year-old woman was stabbed to death and her husband was found hanging from a tree in a marsh not far from the home.
Last week, a 5-year-old girl and her parents were found dead in a Harlem apartment. Abaynesh Schlecht Tedla was found in bed with her throat slashed. Her mother, Jennifer Schlecht, was found decapitated in a bathroom. Her father, Yonathan Tedla, was discovered hanging in another bedroom.
Authorities believe he killed the two before taking his own life, but the circumstances remain under investigation.
