A mall shopper in a fedora hat and neck brace fled a Long Island jewelry store with a $48,000 Rolex watch, police say.
The alleged thief walked into the Tourneau at the Walt Whitman Mall on October 2 and asked to try on a Rolex Skydweller watch valued at $48,850, according to Suffolk police.
After putting on the watch, the man ran out of the store and fled the parking lot in a waiting gray Toyota Prius driven by another man, with a Pennsylvania license plate.
Anyone with information is asked to contact Suffolk County police.
