Teenager Dead, Another Wounded in Brooklyn Double Shooting: Police

A teenager is dead and another is injured after a double shooting in Brooklyn Friday morning, police say.

Police say shots rang out just before 2 a.m. in Bed-Stuy on Jefferson Avenue near Broadway, where they found a 17-year-old boy shot in the stomach and a 14-year-old boy suffering from a gunshot wound to the leg.

Both victims were taken to an area hospital, where the 17-year-old victim was pronounced dead, police said. The 14-year-old was shot in the thigh and is in critical but stable condition, authorities said.

The 17-year-old has been identified as Kieth Kyser.

The crime scene is close to the entrance of the J train and in front of a deli, which was blocked off by police tape. Detectives were seen interviewing people who work there.

Charee Davis, who spoke to NBC 4 New York said she is a cousin of both the victims, who are also cousins. The pair were shot on their way home from the corner deli after getting food there, she said.

Davis said the 14-year-old is in stable but critical condition in the hospital.

The circumstances leading up the deadly shooting weren't immediately known.

No arrests have been made and police are investigating.
