An NYPD lieutenant shot his wife dead, then turned the gun on himself right in front of their teenage daughter, according to a published report.
The New York Daily News reported that Lt. Francis Cole killed his wife and himself in the family's Long Island home Monday.
Cole, 48, stabbed and shot his wife, 46-year-old Elana, then shot himself in the head, according to the report.
The Daily News also reported that the couple's 18-year-old daughter tried to break up the argument before things got violent. Police said the two were going through a divorce.
