A teenager was arrested after a 29-year-old man was shot dead about a block from his home in Queens early Sunday, police said.
Police responding to a 911 call found the man unconscious and unresponsive in front of an apartment building on 21st Street in Astoria around 5:20 a.m., the NYPD said.
Jelan Moreira, of who lived about a block away, had several gunshot wounds to his chest and was taken to Elmhurst Hospital where he was pronounced dead, according to police.
A 17-year-old has been taken into custody in connection with the man’s death, the NYPD said. Charges were pending.
