A medical technician was arrested for stealing cash from a resident who has dementia at a Long Island assisted-living facility, according to police.
Adassa Clark, 61, was in the 90-year-old woman’s room at Bristol Assisted Living in East Meadow to administer medicine on August 3 when she took the cash from the woman’s wallet, Nassau County police said.
Surveillance video caught Clark taking the money after the victim’s family had reported missing cash and a camera was placed in the room, according to investigators.
Clark was arrested Monday in East Meadow and charged with endangering an incompetent person and petit larceny. Attorney information for Clark was not immediately available.
Police say they believe Clark may have committed similar crimes in the past. Anyone who may have been a victim is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 800-244-TIPS.
