Man Charged in Bronx Sneaker Stabbing: NYPD

Police say a 56-year-old man has been charged in the stabbing death of a 20-year-old man, who law enforcement sources say was killed during an argument over a pair of sneakers.

Michael Crocker was charged with second-degree murder, first-degree manslaughter and criminal possession of a weapon in the killing of Malcolm Jacob.

Jacob was found with stab wounds to his chest at Crocker's apartment on Merriam Avenue in the Highbridge section of the Bronx Tuesday evening, the NYPD says. H was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.

Law enforcement officials said Wednesday that the boyfriend of Jacob's mother was the suspect in the stabbing. Crocker's relationship with Jacob or his mother wasn't immediately clear.

It's not clear if Crocker has an attorney.
