Suffolk County PD Arrest Man in Fatal October Hit and Run

The victim was paving part of the roadway on Route 25A when he was struck by a car.

Suffolk County Police arrested a Northport man Saturday who they say struck and killed a construction worker in October.

Detectives arrested John Pappias, 46, and charged him with leaving the scene of a fatal crash.
 
The 49-year-old victim, Victor Schultz, was working the overnight shift paving part of the roadway on Route 25A on October 28th. He was loading a milling machine onto a trailer on the side of the road when police say Pappias struck him with his car.
 
He was pronounced dead on the scene.
 
Pappias is scheduled to be arraigned in Central Islip on Monday.
