Two people have been slashed in separate incidents at suburban New York stores on Black Friday, but authorities say the crimes were not related to shopping.
A Clarkstown police spokesman says a Costco employee in Nanuet stabbed another with a box cutter shortly before the store opened for business Friday. It's in Rockland County.
Police say a previous argument that led to the attack. The victim was undergoing surgery. He is expected to survive.
An 18-year-old was slashed around 2 a.m. Friday in front of a store at the Tanger Outlet Mall in Riverhead, on Long Island.
A police spokesman says the teen had an ongoing dispute with the aggressor. The spokesman says there are no arrests and the teen isn't cooperating with police. He wasn't critically injured.
