2 Stony Brook Basketball Players Arrested on Theft Charges: Police

Authorities say that two basketball players at Stony Brook University are facing charges in connection with a theft on campus earlier this month.

RayShaun McGrew and DeShaun Thrower were both arrested on grand larceny and criminal mischief charges in connection with the theft from the Long Island school on April 6.

It’s not clear what McGrew and Thrower were accused of stealing.

The university said in a statement that it takes all allegations of misconduct seriously and that all students face the same consequences for breaking the rules.

MgGrew is a senior who is expected to graduate in May; Thrower is a sophomore. Both played in the Seawolves’ first-ever NCAA tournament appearance against Kentucky last month.
