Housekeeper Charged With Stealing Jewelry at Assisted Living Home on Long Island

A Middle Island woman was arrested and charged with stealing jewelry from a Lake Grove nursing home, authorities said.

Staci McNair, 24, was a housekeeper at Bristal Assisted Living at Lake Grove, where she stole numerous jewelry pieces from eight residents in May and June, police said. 

She was charged with grand larceny, petit larceny and criminal possession of a controlled substance.

McNair was scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday at Suffolk County District Court in Central Islip. Attorney information for the woman wasn't immediately clear. 

In a statement, Bristal said, "All employees undergo a rigorous criminal background check, this employee had no previous criminal history."
