Brooklyn Man Arrested in Stabbing Death at NJ Party: Police

A Brooklyn man was arrested in the stabbing death of a man at a party in New Jersey, police said Sunday. 

Miguel Nesbeth, 31, of Brooklyn, is accused of stabbing Alfred L. Edwards multiple times at a party in Paterson early Saturday, Paterson police said.

Edwards was hosting the party at his apartment on Straight Street. The pair had an altercation at the party and the violence spread to the street outside, police said. 

Edwards, 41, died at St. Joseph's Regional Medical Center, police said. 

Nesbeth was arrested in Paterson and charged with first-degree murder and weapons charges. If convicted, he could be sentenced to life in prison for murder. 

It wasn't clear whether Nesbeth had an attorney.
