Teen Snapchatted Photo of Gun to Head, Wrote ‘Do Not Come to School Today': Police

A Hudson Valley teen is facing charges after authorities say he posted an image of himself with a gun to his head and the caption “Do Not Go To School Today” to Snapchat, according to police.

The 17-year-old boy was ticketed for falsely reporting an incident after a Clarkstown High School North student told police about the photo posted to the social media network on May 6. The department later determined that the photo to be a hoax.

The scare came two days after another boy allegedly threatened students about a shooting at the school on May 5. That threat wasn’t deemed credible and no charges were filed.

The school district said it wouldn't tolerate threats at the school.

"We cannot, nor will we, tolerate disruptions to the learning environment or behavior that causes our students and families to be fearful," said Clarkstown School Superintendent Dr. J. Thomas Morton.
